“Oh Hey There! My name is Thor. I am an 8 year old boy looking for a family to adopt me. I am considered a young senior. I am still active and playful. You may be able to tell by looking at me that I have some border collie in me but my people say I have some labrador in me too. I am a compact fellow at 30 pounds. I still qualify as a lapdog, right? Because I sure do think I am a lapdog!

“I have lived with other dogs and I am friendly when meeting new dogs. I have also lived with cats. Kids are great! I like to try to herd kids though so keep that in mind if you have young, small children who won’t understand my natural inclination to do so. I don’t want to hurt them, just get them to their playroom-my family has thought that was pretty cute and the kiddos didn’t mind it!

“I enjoy walks and exercise. I am a smart boy who could learn to pull a little less in my excitement though I’d say I don’t pull terribly, just a little. I will bark when the doorbell rings or when I see strangers but I don’t have a mean bone in my body. It’s just what some of us dogs do; we want to alert you to visitors or things that are not part of our normal day. This means I’d probably not do well in an apartment setting or a home where you have neighbors who won’t appreciate a dog who barks.

“Once I get used to my new home and learn the routine, I should be fine to stay home if you need to leave. It’s healthy for us dogs to do that, be OK with being by ourselves. It’d be nice to have a doggy buddy to spend my time with when you leave but it’s not a must. I have always had a dog door to go outside to do my business or just spend time out in my fenced yard. If you don’t have a dog door though, I can manage quite a while between potty breaks. When you leave, just make sure to put the food away as I may help myself if it’s left out! Aside from that I will behave and just wait for your return.

“I have been a very loved boy. My family is so sad to give me up. They are doing their best to find me a new home and to avoid going to the shelter. I’d love a home where I can stay forever and be well taken care of. Times are tough for so many-animals and people alike- if you have a home and love to give, please consider adoption. I am in need of an adoptive home very soon.”
