This black beauty’s name is Zelda and she’s an 8 year old Great Dane. As one would expect, Zelda is a big girl, weighing in at 95 pounds. Zelda has lived with another dog and is said to be “fantastic” with other dogs, cats and kids.  Because she is a senior dog, a home with kids who are gentle and respectful of her would be kindest.

Zelda enjoys walks but can pull while on leash. At this time Zelda can manage stairs but as we see often when a dog ages, it can become difficult for a dog to manage stairs. Zelda is a big girl who won’t be easily carried up and down stairs if necessary. Reportedly Zelda can manage quite a few hours without needing a potty break. While she doesn’t appreciate being crated, Zelda does prefer to be confined to a single room when left alone. Zelda really loves basking in the sun is out and when it’s cold she’ll gladly wear her coat.

Zelda can have a sensitive belly from time to time that is helped by probiotics. Part of the commitment to giving a senior dog a home should be regular veterinary care. Zelda should find an adoptive home willing and able to provide that.

We are told that Zelda is “all love and wants to hug and snuggle”. She is well-behaved and all about pleasing her people. Zelda sounds like a really nice girl who will make a wonderful addition to a lucky family. Zelda lives in Bothell, WA.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
