Zira

Zira is a gentle giant with a heart full of love! This stunning 8.5-year-old, 77 pound Great Dane mix has a personality that shines bright, and she’s ready to find her forever home. Despite her age, Zira is playful and full of energy — she definitely doesn’t act like she’s nearing 9!

While Zira was briefly adopted, it became clear that she thrives best as the only pet in the household. She can be reactive to other dogs (and cats) in the shelter, but with the right training and patience, she’s shown incredible potential.  Zira is a volunteer favorite and loves her daily walks—her leash manners are impeccable, making every stroll a joy.

Zira adores all humans, forming bonds quickly with anyone who crosses her path. She has a playful spirit and loves her toys, especially when they involve a game of fetch!  Zira also knows basic commands, showcasing her intelligence and eagerness to please.
