#GivingTuesday is a day of giving where people join together to support what they love and care about the most. We know you love old dogs and today we’d like to share Ivy and Maxiine Claire’s inspiring stories so you can see the impact of your continued support. Donate here to support the over 300 dogs in our care.
Ivy came to Old Dog Haven as a hospice dog and we did not think she had much time left. She had a huge mammary tumor and her skin was in bad shape. Ivy’s initial exam did not look good, but with veterinary care, yummy food and lots of love from her foster Mom, Ivy’s life is on the upswing. Her tumor was removed and she now has pep her in her step.
Ivy is no longer considered a hospice dog and is enjoying life to the fullest. Her foster Mom says, “Ivy is doing awesome! We love her and she loves us right back.”
Maxiine Claire (Maxiine is spelled with two i’s because she has two eyes, unlike several other dogs that came to this particular foster home.)
Many dogs come to us needing emotional support as well as physical help. Maxiine Claire came to us grieving the loss of her person, which was clearly a traumatic event for her. With gentle encouragement from her foster Mom, Maxiine Claire is feeling safer every day.
Her foster Mom says, “Weekly I see signs that she is settling in and deciding that this is now her home. Last week I came home and she was sleeping on my bed, a first, and she does a happy dance when I get home.”
Your #GivingTuesday gift will help hundreds of dogs like Ivy and Maxiine Claire spend their senior years filled with love. If you can’t donate, you can help by sharing this blog and our Facebook posts, and by spreading the word about Old Dog Haven and our mission to help senior dogs in need.
Thank you for loving old dogs!
