Not much is known about Barney-he’s a 30 pound dog whose breed mix is a guess. Barney is estimated to be about 9 years old so he is considered a “senior” but we are told he still has tons of energy. He can run and enjoys his walks immensely. He also enjoys going for car rides and he has an adventurous spirit. When it’s time to chill out, he can do that well too. Currently Barney lives with other dogs. He does good with his current pack but can be nervous when meeting new dogs so slow, smart introductions are best. Once Barney knows a dog he is friendly and loyal to his pack. He can stay alone for a work day with his canine friends.

It is unknown how Barney would do completely alone so the hope is he will find a new home with at least another friendly dog. Barney has been known to chase cats, squirrels, bunnies, anything smaller than he is. He enjoys kind children who are at over 5 years old. This unique-looking boy has traveled a rocky road, losing at least 3 homes through no fault of his own. Barney can sometimes be afraid of men he doesn’t know. Who knows what he has been through but the hope is with a stable, loving, forever home he will become the confident boy he is meant to be.

Barney has already proven himself to be a sweet dog who listens well and wants to please. Someone will be very fortunate to gain the love and devotion of Barney.

He is in Seattle, hoping to find a new family soon.

ODH has not met this dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
