“My name is Johnny and I need to find a new home. For most of my life I was a companion to an elderly woman. We spent almost all of our time together. I didn’t ask for much and in return I kept her lap warm. Sadly my lady passed away and very kindly her family took me in. However, I am not happy with them. The family leaves all day long and that makes me really sad. They like to go camping and be active. I enjoy walks, don’t get me wrong, I really would like to get out more than I used to, but camping?? No! I am only 10 years old and for a Shih Tzu that’s really only middle age. I weigh 17 pounds right now and I think I’m pretty handsome. I have managed stairs but I try to avoid them when I can. In my current home I have to wait about 6-8 hours without getting out to potty. Oh how my life has changed but I have adapted. There are other dogs here and they are fine, but my preference is dogs who aren’t hyper – like myself. I have never lived with a cat so I can’t tell you how I’d react to one. Kids that are 12 years old and over are fine; I don’t appreciate being chased. I can stay in my crate but truly I just want to be with another person who will love me and want to spend time with me. I hope to find a human who will outlive me, I really don’t want to be a “left behind” again. I am a very loyal boy. I will make sure you never feel lonely, I promise!”

Johnny is in Renton, WA.
