Leilah (pronounced Layla), a Pomeranian mix, was turned into Old Dog Haven but had to spend a few days with 2 fosters before an Old Dog Haven permanent foster could be found.  When she arrived at her permanent foster home, she was a fearful little girl but wanted to be loved.  She was particularly afraid of men.

A few days later her intake exam was scheduled, and she was found to have a grade 2 heart murmur, terrible teeth (not unusual for older dogs), and the beginnings of kidney issues. The vet estimated her age at 13.  An Echocardiogram has already been scheduled in preparation for a dental.  She was a bit of a drama queen at the vet but quickly calmed down for a treat.

Leilah is a very smart little girl and is food-motivated, so it took no time for her foster dad to make friends with her.  She learned to go in and out the door dog very quickly as well.  Before we knew it, she had learned to climb the doggie stairs and stand politely on the top step to ask for permission to climb into a lap and get a treat.

She will need grooming which has been scheduled to make her more comfortable.  We are so thankful to our donors for making all of this possible for this fearful, neglected little dog.   She will be the darling, spoiled little princess at her new foster home for a long time to come.
