Mako

12 year old Mako is a sweet liver-and-white, 50 pound senior boy who is very much a Springer. Mako’s family made the hard decision to contact rescue to find Mako an adoptive home, as the small children in their home were very stressful for him.

Mako doesn’t act his age. He has a lot of energy and loves to go for walks. He is very happy saying “Hi” to people on his walk and greeting other dogs. Mako has lived with another dog and may be able to do so again. We recommend that he meet and spend some time with any other dog that he may live with.

Mako has never lived with a cat, and prior to coming to rescue his only experience with cats was chasing the neighborhood cats off his property.

Mako is not crate trained, and at this point in his life, his rescuers do not recommend that he be asked to learn this skill. He is very happy to snuggle on the couch with his people and sleeps through the night on his dog bed in the bedroom. Mako will happily crawl into bed with you if allowed.  Mako is house-trained, microchipped and up to date on preventative vaccinations.

Mako has met several new people in his foster home and did well with all. The toddlers in his prior home caused Mako anxiety, so it is recommended that he be in a home with older children or teenagers.

Mako does not like to be left home alone and will exhibit signs of separation anxiety by whining and scratching if left for long periods of time.

Mako is a true Velcro Springer who is happiest when spending time with his people. His foster home reports that he is a joy. This boy is ready to meet his Forever Family.
