Morris, probably a Lhasa Apso of advanced age, was a dog like many of the ones that come into the care of Old Dog Haven: he showed obvious signs of long-term neglect both physically and emotionally. He had a heart condition so severe that we couldn’t risk a dental or neuter surgery. He saw a cardiologist and an animal ophthalmologist; we did everything we could to keep him comfortable and show him that we were worthy of his love and trust. Morris would faint because of his heart and we were told at one point he could do that and not recover. Sadly that day came a little over 4 months after he’d come into our care. His foster family will always smile and think of Morris when they see the fruit in their yard that Morris liked to bring inside and hoard.
