Best Buddies Scooter and Junior are in need of an adoptive home and soon! These friends have lived together most of their lives and would like to stay together for the rest of their days, if possible. Scooter is an 11 year old dachshund who weighs approximately 15 pounds. 12 year old Junior is said to be a terrier mix who also weighs about 15 pounds.

This cuddly pair has lived with kids and have done well with them as long as the children are gentle and respectful. They are said to be fine with most dogs they meet. It is unknown how they’d do in a home with cats but it is known that they can’t live in a home where there are chickens!

Neither dog has been vetted in at least 3 years. Upon adoption, they should see a vet for senior dog check ups. Their adopter should be able to afford their lifelong vet care, good food and grooming. While they can both do stairs, one should keep in mind that a dachshund build is not ideal for a home with many stairs especially as they become older. We are told neither of the dogs are very barky.

Junior and Scooter are fine to stay alone when the humans leave the house as long as they have each other for company. They are dog door trained and used to being able to get out into a securely fenced yard as they need to. Both boys like to romp and play; they are not accustomed to leash walking. Scooter and Junior love going for car rides and they really enjoy snuggling under covers with their people or each other.

These friends sound like a delightful pair who will certainly bring smiles to their new home. It can be so rewarding to give a bonded pair of dogs a home together when one is able to.

These are not ODH dogs; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
