Goodness Gracious, isn’t Sherlock a darling boy? He’s a 16 pound King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Sherlock is a 12 year old sweetheart looking for an adoptive home.

Sherlock has never lived with other dogs before. He is fine meeting new dogs but has been known to bark at bigger dogs when he sees them. Perhaps with proper introductions and patient integration, Sherlock could be happy in a new home with canine companionship. Sherlock has lived with cats and gentle children and done well with both.

Sherlock is fine to stay alone in his home, going quite a while without needing a potty break. At this time he can manage stairs. Sherlock is said to be good on leash and while he doesn’t get any exercise currently, we’d bet he’d appreciate getting out for fresh air.

Born with a heart murmur, Sherlock is deaf and he has no teeth. We are told he drools because he has no teeth.  Old Dog Haven’s experience in the many dogs in our care without teeth has not been that the dogs have drooled. Sherlock needs a home where he can have a thorough vet check and receive regular veterinary care and grooming. In temperament Sherlock is said to be a “low maintenance” dog but his care will not be low maintenance. Please take this into consideration when considering the adoption of  Sherlock or any senior dog. Just like humans, senior dogs need more veterinary care and monitoring.

Sherlock is described as a very loving and affectionate dog. He loves people! Someone will be very fortunate to give Sherlock his forever home. Sherlock is in Seattle, WA.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
