Your continued support to our mission has had a profound effect on so many senior dogs in need. #GivingTuesday is tomorrow and today we’d like to share a very special story with you to demonstrate how your devotion gives hope to our dogs.

For lack of a better word, Harley Rae was in horrendous shape when she arrived at Old Dog Haven. She had the BIGGEST group of mammary tumors we had ever seen and they ran the length of her body. She was also absolutely terrified at the shelter. Nothing seemed to be going Harley Rae’s way until she arrived at her Old Dog Haven permanent foster home.

Old Dog Haven sent her to very experienced surgeon who removed all the mammary tumors. The surgery was a huge success, her post op went very well, and to everyone’s delight and surprise those ugly tumors were benign!  Her terrible skin was also addressed and today Harley Rae looks like a new dog.

Her permanent moms and their resident dogs have done a wonderful job and Harley Rae has gained tremendous confidence and has settled in far more easily than we ever would have guessed.

Her foster mom shares with us today, “Harley Rae and my other dogs have formed a tight pack and love going for car rides, walks and sleeping together on the bed. Harley Rae is affectionate, curious and is always up for a snuggle and a nap. We just adore her. This wonderful, loving and hopeful little one now has a future ahead of her because of Old Dog Haven and your compassion and generosity.”

Will you help us reach our #GivingTuesday goal of raising $50,000 to help over 335 dogs just like Harley Rae enjoy their senior years in an Old Dog Haven permanent foster home? #GivingTuesday is tomorrow, but you can make your gift today.
