“Hi! I’m Sounder. I am an 8 year old brindle mastiff ​mix ​who weighs 167 pounds. You read that right- 167 pounds! I am a BIG boy. I need a home with someone who is experienced with dogs my size; able to handle my strength and initial hesitancy when meeting new people. I do warm up and am a loving boy who loves being brushed once I get to know you!

“I am hoping to find a quiet home. I do like other nice dogs, who are mellow like myself. I have never lived with cats and I haven’t been around kids. Because I am such a big boy, I think a home without young or active children would be best. My people call me a “gentle soul”. I love to lean on my people. I am well behaved and rarely ever bark.

“My adopter needs to keep my ears cleaned as I do have a tendency to get ear infections. The vet recently gave me a clean bill of health but did mention I would benefit from a teeth cleaning. I hope my adopter will do this for me and continue to give me regular vet care and good food as I age.

“Walks are enjoyable! I love to get out and stretch my legs. I’m a good boy on leash. I can manage quite a while before I need a potty break. My people can leave me alone inside and I am just fine. I love to chew on a kong filled with peanut butter. Napping and rolling in the grass are some of my favorite activities.

“I would love to find an adoptive home to spend the holidays in. I need a committed, loving, forever home. If you’re looking for a big buddy with a big heart, I’m your boy! ”
