Delta
Playful and loves walks!
“Hey there! My name is Delta. In July of this year, I will turn 12 years old. My people call me a Parson Russell Terrier. Everyone tells me that I am really cute, they love my spots and my wiry coat. I weigh about 26.5 pounds, a good weight to pick up and a good weight to sit on your lap or next to you while you relax. I don’t take up too much room!
“I have lived with another dog, a bigger dog, and gotten along fine with him and other dogs I have met. Because I’m used to having my dog buddy around, I may prefer a home with a friendly dog who will be welcoming. Dogs can help other dogs learn the ropes in their new home! No one is sure what I’d do if I saw a cat as I’ve never been around one before. Kids are nice as long as they do not pull on your ears- who likes that, anyway?? Homes with gentle kids are the only ones who should have dogs, if you ask me!
“If I must, I can manage quite a few hours between potty breaks. Admittedly, it’s not my favorite thing..I much prefer my human to be around so that I can come and go outside as needed but I’ll hold it if I have to. I can do stairs fine and guess what-I don’t bark! That is what my person will tell you, though I can’t promise that in a new home and environment, that will be the case.
“A walk a day is terrific. I am great on leash, though I have never had any training. When I’m feeling playful, I hop like a bunny. My people think this is the funniest thing ever!
“With me around, you will never feel lonely. I am very good at staying by your side. I have a way of looking at people that make them want to pet me. Did you know that petting a dog is good for you? It is true! From Google: “Petting dogs can be beneficial for both physical and mental health. Research indicates that interactions with dogs, including petting, can reduce stress hormones, increase relaxation, and even improve heart rate variability. It can also boost levels of the “cuddle hormone,” oxytocin, which promotes feelings of trust and empathy.
“If you are looking for a devoted friend, one you can make a lifetime commitment to, maybe you’d consider me? I’m a nice girl who is hoping to find a home with care and time for me.”
