Abood is a very handsome Shepherd/Chow mix. He is only 8 years old and he weighs 65 pounds. Abood is a dog in need of a committed adopter who is either familiar with or willing to learn to treat and care for a dog with diabetes. Reportedly he can stay alone without any trouble as long as he is able to get out to relieve himself; he needs a potty break about every 3-4 hours. Abood has never lived with another dog but he has been just fine with dogs he’s met and those who have come over to visit in his home. He’s been great with kids but would appreciate a home with children who will be gentle to him and not climb or pull on him. He can handle stairs and enjoys a daily walk. Abood is very good on leash, has excellent manners and we are told he never barks. This sweet guy is said to be a people pleaser who is a joy to be around. Don’t let the diabetes scare you; all you need is a routine and it can be managed just fine. Someone will be very lucky to welcome Abood into their family.

Abood is in Seattle, WA, in need of a home very soon.

ODH has not met this dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
