Amersynn
Hope and light
Please note: The dogs in ODH's Final Refuge care are not adoptable due to medical reasons and all are in permanent homes. Your sponsorship supports the veterinary expenses for these dogs - and we thank you!
Amersynn was brought to the shelter after being found on the streets. She was, to say the least, a “train wreck.” The shelter called ODH and she came home to us the next day.
She’s been with us a week and she’s already had a much needed grooming and bath, her intake appointment with the vet happened within days of her arrival and she had a complete exam, including blood work, which indicates infection and she’s taking medication for that. She has an ophthalmologist appointment in two weeks and later in the month she’ll have a dental (her teeth are terrible) and she’ll be spayed. She was pretty shut down when she arrived, but each day she becomes more comfortable with her surroundings. She’s very visually impaired, but she’s beginning to find her way around the house. She sleeps all night and eats well.
And the best part! She even wags her tail, which is pretty remarkable considering all that she must have experienced.
We know she feels better already and our hope is that she’ll be with us long enough to know that she’s loved and valued.
She’s called Amersynn, which means “light” because even though she hasn’t experienced much light in her life, we’ll see that she becomes her name.
