Benny is a petite 12-year-old pug mix (Chihuahua/Pug/Shih Tzu) with a big personality! He came in when his previous person’s life circumstances changed. He was very well loved for the first 12 years of his life, and has a lot of love to give his new family.

Benny has been to the vet and got a full workup and was neutered and had a dental, he is very healthy!

Benny’s favorite activities are napping on the couch, riding in the car, and going for walks around the neighborhood. He gets very attached to people but can also be independent, and a little stubborn about getting up when he wants to rest. So far, he’s gotten along well with every animal he’s met, though he will let other dogs know if they’re being too rowdy. Due to his senior status and occasional crankiness, Benny will do best in a home with adults only.

While his rescuers think Benny is perfect just the way he is, he does have a couple of quirks. He can get a little grumpy sometimes, especially when somebody wakes him up before he’s ready or tries to take his food (relatable!). It will be important for his future family to respect his signals and give him space when he needs it. Benny is also still working on house training, and to be honest, no one can be sure if he’ll ever get the hang of it!  However, he’s great about wearing belly bands in the house. And just look at that face–he can get away with anything!
