Daisy and Moo are adorable, lifelong besties hoping to remain together forever! Daisy is a chihuahua/yorkie mix who will turn 12 on May 25th of this year. Moo turns 9 years old this April 16th. Moo is a chihuahua/min pin mix. We are told both girls weigh between 13-14 pounds.

Both girls have lived with other dogs. They prefer the company of each other best but it sounds as though they could go to a new home where other similar sized dogs of matching energy live. Moo is afraid of big dogs. Moo and Daisy have lived with cats. Daisy likes to play with and chase them, so it may be kinder for them to not find a new home with cats. The girls have been OK around older children who will be gentle, kind, and respectful of them.

Daisy and Moo are OK to be left alone together when their humans must leave the house. They are potty pad trained but their person will put a dog diaper on each girl when they are going to be gone longer than normal. Both girls will “mark” in a new home, this is not unusual, so one should be prepared for that and accept the use of potty pads. Each girl has been crate trained but ideally, they won’t have to stay long hours in crates.

While we are told each dog is up to date on vaccines, it has been “some time” since their last check-up with a veterinarian. This means that Moo and Daisy’s adopter should be willing and able to take care of this upon adoption. They both have heart murmurs and it sounds as if both could use dentals. Of course, dentals should only be considered after the girls’ hearts are checked out and ideally, lab work is done for both. This will help give an overall picture of their health. Daisy and Moo can manage stairs at this time. Their person states there is no obvious sign of arthritis though they are given a daily joint supplement. As can be common in smaller breeds, Daisy has luxating patellas. Moo had a mast cell tumor removed at 2 years old. There has been no recurrence of mast cell growth since then, which is a good sign.

As they are described to us, these friends sound like a loving and fun pair! Daisy sounds like she is the braver, more outgoing dog. She loves all kinds of weather except thunder. Daisy enjoys running through her yard and lap time. Her person says she is cuddly and the best lap dog who is “a little furnace” because she keeps her person so warm. The girls are used to sleeping in bed with their person so the hope is that will continue when they find their new home. Moo is cuddly as well, enjoying time to run through the yard and play with her “sister” Daisy. Moo is a little pickier about where she goes, she does not like tall grass! A home with a fenced yard for these two to enjoy time outside when the weather allows it, would make them both happy.

When their human is not available to hang out with, you can find them cuddling with each other in a soft bed. Daisy and Moo like to lay on the couch, on top of the couch or anywhere they can find warmth or where the sun is shining. When their person leaves the house they do share their displeasure with some barking, crying and whining. However, once they are over it we are told they will settle down. Moo is said to be more attached to their human than she is Daisy, the thought is that it may take her longer to adjust to the loss of her human and lifelong home. It will no doubt help for Moo to have her sister with her in the move. Patience, compassion and time given to both will be the kindness way to teach these girls they are loved and safe.

Moo and Daisy are in need of an adoptive home ASAP.  If you cannot adopt this loving pair of dogs, please share them with your friends and family who may be able to.
