Emma
Loves being included
Emma was found in the road, in a state of obvious, long-time neglect. At the time, no one knew who she belonged to. No one was looking for her, so she was brought to the local shelter. Emma is estimated to be about 10 years old. She is a gorgeous heeler/cattle dog mix. Look at her beautiful markings!
Emma appreciates her cozy accommodations at the shelter, far better than wherever she came from! The staff found out she had lived on the end of a chain for years. She was stinky and very underweight. Emma’s friends at the shelter are still working on getting weight on her. She has had some tummy trouble at the shelter, the vet believes this is nerves as they have done testing and no reason for it has been found. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Emma found an adoptive home where she could relax, feel loved and secure, and feel better? Everyone is hoping Emma will have her chance at an adoptive home!
Emma is a slow-moving girl who enjoys her naps. She loves it when it’s her turn to get out of her kennel to hang out in the shelter staff office. She is ready for a cozy, loving home with care. Emma wants to be the only dog in her home. It is unknown how she would do with a cat. We are told that she was good with the children who found her before she ended up in the shelter. Of course, we would only recommend a home for Emma with respectful, kind children who will give this deserving girl the space and gentleness she has earned.
This is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
