Honey
Wonderful companion
12 year old Honey is a pretty yellow lab who weighs 75 pounds. Like so many senior dogs we share, Honey finds herself in need of a home for the remainder of her golden years now that her human has gone to assisted living.
We are told that Honey used to live with a male German Shepherd who was her best friend. He passed away so now she is completely alone. Honey does not do well with smaller dogs or cats. She would do best in a home with another mellow large dog or one where she will be the only dog in the home. Honey has not been observed around young children. The thought is she’d do fine with kids who are older and know to be gentle and respectful with dogs.
Honey had been a wonderful companion to her person for many years. She’s not had a lot of exercise or vetting. It would be in her best interest to find a home with someone who will get her into the vet for a senior exam. Honey does appear to have arthritis, she can no longer do stairs. She is currently not taking anything to help with her arthritis. We are told Honey is losing her hearing, which is definitely something that can happen in a dog her age. At this time Honey requires potty breaks about every 3 hours; another reason to have her checked out at the vet.
This super sweet girl shows her Labrador colors when you enter the room, grabbing a toy or bone and parading around the room with her tail wagging wildly. Dogs like Honey have a way of making you feel special! Honey is hoping to find her next special person to share her love and life with-will you be the lucky one?
Honey is located in Tacoma, WA.
