Jasper (Pom)

Old Dog Haven was contacted to step in to help Jasper when his owner could no longer care for him, Old Dog Haven brought him into a wonderful Final Refuge home.  When he came he was overweight, had badly matted fur with some bald patches, very arthritic hind legs and was coughing.

From Jasper’s new mom:

“When Jasper arrived, this senior dog was instantly welcomed by our three dogs and two teen boys. We groomed him, got him on a new diet to help with his allergies/skin issues, and began a new exercise routine to help him get down to a healthy weight. He is now enjoying walks, going to the dog park, adventuring to the beach, and exploring around our yard.

“Jasper’s mobility has improved significantly during his first month with us. He has more stamina on our walks and adventures, and seems to be much happier in general. He enjoys jumping onto the couch and cuddling with any member of the family. When he isn’t relaxing on the couch, he is relaxing by the glass door where critters from the garden provide much entertainment.

“Jasper stays close to all of us when we are out on adventures, although he loves to sniff “hello” to other dogs and people. He is mostly deaf, so if we need to get his attention, we just get close to him and say his name with a wave. His eyesight seems to be okay-ish, but his sense of smell is great!

“We are so grateful to Old Dog Haven for choosing our home to be Jasper’s final refuge home. This old fellow has brought so much joy and happiness to our family!”
