Jax
Wonderful old soul!

Jax, a 13-year-old Boxer, arrived at his Old Dog Haven foster home last spring after losing his home. A vet exam revealed he had a large mass on his spleen and over a hundred bladder stones. Jax was able to receive life-saving surgery to remove the tumor on his spleen and the bladder stones and recovered very quickly. His foster mom told us:
“Thankfully, the tumor was benign, and he’s doing amazing overall. While he does still have his calcium bladder stones, he’s being managed well, is comfortable, and has no significant difficulties with that issue. He goes to physical therapy once a week to help him maintain his mobility and comfort, and it’s probably his favorite day of the week! Not only does he love the staff (and the treats) but it’s definitely improved his strength. We still go for walks every day – oftentimes going close to a mile, with a big old smile on his face!
“I’m so grateful to Old Dog Haven for bringing Jax into my life and being able to be his final home for however long we get. He’s a wonderful soul! He’s become my velcro boy – if I leave the room, he’s only a few steps behind me. He loves waiting for the “Jax Tax” of the last bit of the Churu tube when I’m treating my kitty, and while he generally likes to fly solo when he’s sleeping, every once in a while he gives me a little snuggle time which I cherish.”
