Lovely Khaleesi is a unique-looking blend of husky and shepherd. This 10 year old girl weighs 100 pounds. Khaleesi has two different colored eyes, one brown and one blue. She uses her beautiful eyes to frequently check in on her people. Khaleesi is a mellow girl hoping to find a calm home.

Currently, Khaleesi lives with other dogs, cats and children. She gets along with everyone but if the young children try to pay attention to her, she will move and find a new place to lie down. It sounds as though Khaleesi is tolerant but we would guess she would be happier in a home without small children she has to move herself away from.

In July of this year Khaleesi was spayed. A mammary mass was removed at the same time. Mammary masses can develop when a dog is spayed late in life. We are told this mass was benign but Khaleesi will need to be monitored for future masses. Aside from that, this very nice girl should lose some weight. After a senior dog veterinary exam that would include perhaps checking her thyroid, a gentle exercise and diet plan to help her shed some pounds will help Khaleesi feel more like moving. Her people tell us she needs more exercise than she wants at this time. She can pull on leash when she gets out, so that tells us she may enjoy getting out more than she lets on!

Khaleesi is accustomed to hanging out inside her home on her dog bed in the living room. She manages a few hours between potty breaks when needed. At this time she can manage climbing stairs. As is the case with many dogs, she is fearful of fireworks. Khaleesi barks at appropriate times, never growling unless a child falls on her, but she has never bitten anyone. She sounds like a very nice girl!

Khaleesi is located in Yakima, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org
