Leo
Companionable and relaxed
Leo is a 12-year-old neutered Chihuahua who weighs 10 pounds. His shelter ID is A748568.
This cutie is a pretty typical little dog in that he’s not convinced he’s a dog at all. He enjoys being carried around more than walking on a leash, though he does have awesome leash skills. His former owner said he could have arthritis. Shelter staff note they’ve not seen any obvious signs of that.
Leo is truly just looking for a quiet, relaxed household where he can sunbathe in peace. He can be a bit independent, and we suspect he is the type of chihuahua who bonds deeply to one or two people. Leo was an owner-surrendered to the shelter, living with his previous family his whole life. Understandably, because of that, it may take time to adjust to a new family and routine.
While waiting for the shelter for his new home, he has shown himself to be house-trained. Leo is tolerant of other small dogs, though he doesn’t really want to play. He may enjoy living in a home with a laid-back cat or two.
Leo is ready to meet his new family!
