“Hello, my name is Lizzy and I’m a 10 year old dachshund. I weigh 15 pounds and as you can see I’m not a typical colored doxie. I’ve got very unique marking and coloring. Not only do I have my looks going for me, I’m also a really nice girl. I get along with other dogs and kids who are kind to me. Right now I live in a house with quite a few other dogs and it’s busy here. I don’t mind having doggy friends but would prefer a home where the attention could be more evenly spread around. I can’t complain though, the people I’m staying with have been so kind to me. The person who I’d known, loved and lived with my whole life developed a disease called dementia so she could no longer care for me. Her family found these people to give me a temporary home until a real forever home could be found for me. Apparently it’s not always easy to find a home for an older dog. I’m not sure I understand why! I feel like I have so many things going for me. I am potty trained and I can go quite awhile without needing to go out to do my business.

Going for walks is one of my favorite things to do and I behave very well on leash so that you can enjoy our walk too. Stairs are a little hard for me to manage, first because I’m a dachshund and second because I do have some arthritis. I take a pill 3 times a week to help with my ache. My skin can get a little itchy on food with grain it in but that’s an easy thing to avoid, isn’t it? I really need to find a home soon and with someone who will keep me forever. If you are looking for a new friend who is loving, playful, friendly, smart and loyal, then I am your girl!”

Lizzy is currently in Lake Stevens, WA.
