What a pretty miniature schnauzer! Her name is Luci and she is 12 years old. Luci weighs about 14 pounds. She has been a therapy dog for her person whom she’s lived with since puppyhood. Luci is in need of an adoptive home due to the failing health of her family. Her person has told us, “Just take good care of her. She is a great pet.”

Luci has never lived with other dogs but she has gotten along well with another family member’s dog. We are told Luci is appropriately social with dogs she meets. Luci has never been observed around a cat. She’s good with kids but she does get excited around them and in her enthusiasm to play, she has knocked small children over.

Luci spends most of her time with her people. She’s a great companion to take places but when it’s too hot to come along, Luci will stay home alone without any problem. She’s used to getting out to potty about every 4 hours during the day.

Up until recently, she was walking daily on a treadmill for exercise. We are told she’s very good on leash, she’s used to being leashed up to go out to potty. It’d be wonderful if Luci could find a home with someone who will take her outside for daily walks so she can get some fresh air and sniff to her heart’s content! We’re told Luci can do stairs at this time. She does have some arthritis though so too many stairs on a regular basis could be hard on her.

Luci needs a home with someone who can afford her care. She needs regular grooming as well as care for her skin that is prone to becoming dry. Her owners have her on a special diet and supplement they will gladly share with potential adopters. Luci has a heart murmur that should be monitored. As of right now, it doesn’t seem to cause her any trouble.

We are told Luci is very aware of her surroundings and smart too. Luci considers herself  a watchdog! She does bark when she becomes excited and her bark is not a quiet one, she’s a schnauzer, after all.  Luci loves people. She’s a friendly girl who is affectionate. She enjoys sitting with her people on the couch to watch T.V. Certainly there’s someone out there who will appreciate Luci and the companionship she has to offer.

Luci is in need of a new home very soon. She’s waiting in Woodinville, WA. for her adopter.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
