Mac is a very handsome miniature pinscher with merle markings. He is about 12 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. Through no fault of his own, Mac needs to find a new home and this time, a true forever home.

Mac was adopted from a shelter just last year. The couple that adopted him realized with all of the hours they worked, they had to crate him too many hours a day and they knew that wasn’t fair to Mac. A new home was found for Mac but unfortunately, the resident dog (who is much bigger than Mac) is not welcoming. For Mac’s safety and happiness, he needs to be moved once again.

Mac doesn’t react to other dogs, he’ll sniff them as a dog does but doesn’t want to play. It sounds as though he’d be fine living with another dog but he needs a home with one who will be OK with him! He currently lives peacefully with a cat. It is unknown how Mac would do around children but his caregiver believes he’d be best with older kids, age 12 and up.

This nice boy is crate trained, managing quite a while before he needs to relieve himself. However, as he ages, it’d be nice if he didn’t have to hold it so long. He can still do stairs and go for strolls. Mac is good on leash but he has been known to put a walk on halt when he’s “done”. His owner believes he hears well but his night vision seems to be diminished; this is common in older dogs.

Mac knows some basic commands. He is a smart, loving dog who dances when treats or food come out. True to his breed, he is a champion burrower, making a nest of his blankets. He is a good boy about staying alone but he will alert bark. Mac is a cuddler who really deserves to find a home he can finally stay in-forever!

Mac is posted for his owner in Tacoma, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
