Maisie had a tough road before coming to ODH, losing one family and going to a foster home for another rescue at age 15. She stayed there more than a year and went to many adoption events without finding an adopter, and just became too much trouble for that family – they hadn’t intended her to be permanent. Of course, that’s what ODH does: give old dogs a final, committed, permanent home. Little Maisie by that time had a great deal of understandable anxiety and was developing dementia.

Her ODH family gave her a great deal of love and patience, and she relaxed for a while before the dementia simply became too much for her.

She gave a kiss at the very end, thanking those who cared about her enough to stick with her to the end.
