Maya

Maya is a beautiful lady who dreams of becoming a cherished family member. She is a 9-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix who weighs 38 pounds.

Maya would love an active family that will include them in their adventures. She would be a great running, walking, or hiking buddy. She is ready to go when you are. Maya will need a securely fenced backyard to avoid the temptation of going on walkabouts through the neighborhood to meet new people.

Maya has lived with other dogs and would be fine in a home with a canine companion that possesses the same gentle demeanor that she does. Maya’s history with cats is unknown; therefore, her rescuers would like to see her go to a home without cats. Maya has a very loving nature and would be fine with children who possess an understanding of respectful and gentle behavior towards animals.

Maya is housebroken and shouldn’t be crated. The belief is that she might have been crated for long periods of time at some point in her life, and it wasn’t enjoyable for her.
