Help us welcome beautiful Miko to the Old Dog Haven family!
Miko was found after he was abandoned by his owner and left without care for days. He was taken to a shelter in poor condition, suffering from severe arthritis in his hips and knees and spondylosis in his spine. He had painful ear infections and long-term neglect left him with scaly skin and missing hair over parts of his body. Shelter staff reached out to Old Dog Haven, and we were able to find him a loving permanent foster home where he would get all the medical care he needs for the rest of his life.
Thanks to our wonderful transport team, Miko arrived at his new home and settled right in. He received his vet intake exam where he received X-rays, vaccines and a thorough exam where they found his weight was putting stress on his joints. He was prescribed daily medication to help with his arthritis and is starting to move around better.
Thanks to your support, Miko will receive all the vet care he needs to be safe and comfortable in his Old Dog Haven forever foster home. This happy senior boy now gets to enjoy all the things an old dog should, like chasing tennis balls, daily walks and basking in the backyard sun!
His foster mom told us he loves to excitedly dance around the house when he is happy (usually when he gets a tennis ball) and is friendly to all he meets. He is also described as very smart and understands hand signals. Miko is now enjoying a wonderful life with his very own family, and they feel so lucky to be able to provide him with all the love and care this old boy deserves!
