Milo is a 13-year-old Siberian Husky who weighs about 80 pounds. Milo needs a home VERY SOON. His owner loves him greatly but he has to leave the country and has come to realize his lifestyle of frequent moves and long flights is not fair for a senior dog. He is ready to help Milo find a new home where he can stay put and settle in for the rest of his days.

We are told Milo would probably do best as an only dog. This is how he has lived for years, though he had lived with another dog in the past. Milo can sometimes be “choosy” about which dogs he gets along with. If you are dog savvy and have a mature dog that is well-behaved, perhaps Milo could share a home with you and your dog. Milo needs a committed adopter as his current owner will not be around to take him back should things not work out. Milo has lived with cats and children. He really likes gentle children.

Milo has been fine staying alone in his home without issue. He needs a potty break every 4-6 hours. Milo barks very little. He is happy to chill out on his dog bed on the floor or on the patio of his apartment. Milo would love a home with a fenced yard, but he is not an “outside dog”!

This gorgeous boy can still manage stairs. Joint supplements could help keep him moving well. However, if he ever loses the ability to do stairs, one will not be able to carry Milo up and down stairs. He has had a history of allergies and ear infections so one needs to be mindful to keep his ears clean and provide him with his allergy medications. There may be other options to help Milo with his allergies; his adopter can explore those options with their veterinarian.

Daily walks are enjoyable for Milo. He will pull while on leash, but with a reminder to stop pulling, he will listen. Milo enjoys running off leash, though we would recommend not allowing that for some time after adoption unless he is in a fenced area. Too many recently adopted dogs take off if given the chance.

Here are all of the wonderful things Milo’s owner shares about him: “He has got beautiful blue eyes and a sweet, charming personality to match. He is very sweet and affectionate when he is in the mood. He can say “hello” and “I love you” if you have the right treats. He knows how to sit, shake, high 5 and catch treats like a trained dolphin.” What a great, fun dog!
