Adorable Minnie is a 9 year old yorkshire terrier. She’s currently overweight at 17 pounds so she will need someone who is willing to work with her on slow weight loss. She has lived with other dogs and we are told Minnie is friendly with other dogs. However, she does best when meeting them in a “neutral spot” first-meaning not her own home. This is something we recommend when introducing dogs to each other if at all possible. Minnie is not a fan of cats, she’s afraid of them. She has lived with kids and has done well with them but she would prefer a quiet home without children.

Minnie does well on leash but at this time she doesn’t walk too far. With gradual weight loss and gentle daily exercise we would like to think she could increase the distance that she could walk. This is a “young” senior after all, it’d be in Minnie’s best interest to be more active. Minnie can do stairs and we are told she can manage quite a few hours without needing a potty break. She has had another dog at home for company when her people have left the house. Reportedly Minnie doesn’t do a lot of barking but she IS a yorkie so she’ll let you know if someone is at your door or if she hears something she thinks you should know about!

Sweet Minnie wants to be everyone’s friend. She greets you with her a stubby tail wag and will look up to you with her button brown eyes. Who can resist her?

Minnie is in Oak Harbor, WA waiting to be your loyal companion.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
