Misha
Enjoying her new home with her new pack!
Please note: The dogs in ODH's Final Refuge care are not adoptable due to medical reasons and all are in permanent homes. Your sponsorship supports the veterinary expenses for these dogs - and we thank you!
Misha had been with her loving family since she was a puppy but they became unable to care for her as she aged. They made the difficult decision to surrender her to Old Dog Haven so she could continue to live her best life and receive the care she would need.
Once Misha saw a vet there were definitely some surprises. What everyone thought was an enlarged liver turned out to be just a large fatty tumor! Her bloodwork and ultrasound results determined she has Cushing’s disease. We started her on the proper medications to treat this condition as well as medication for urinary incontinence.
Like most older dogs, she has some arthritis, but it doesn’t slow her down. We go on daily walks and seek out adventures on the weekends. She loves to chase a laser around, which surprised us all (especially the cats!). She is enjoying cuddling up with her new Old Dog Haven foster sisters Melly and Daisy and you will often find them sharing a cozy bed. All in all, Misha is an amazing dog and has been a delightful addition to our home and family. She’s an incredibly intelligent and well-mannered senior girl and seeing her personality blossom has been wonderful
Thanks to Old Dog Haven she will live the rest of her days as healthy and spoiled member of our family.
