This guy looks like a big teddy bear! His name is Morty and he’s an 87-pound St. Bernard mix who is about 8 years old. Morty was left behind when his people moved -literally left behind – like a piece of unwanted furniture. Thankfully a Good Samaritan took him in and they are now looking for a forever home for him. Morty lives with a number of dogs but he and one male dog are not seeing eye to eye. He does get along with small dogs and females, so perhaps a home without large males and a proper introduction is best for Morty. It is unknown how Morty is with cats and young children. Morty is a friendly dog who loves people, a big boy who still loves to play; he even plays fetch!

Morty is good on leash and he enjoys walks. He does have some arthritis and he takes a daily anti-inflammatory drug to help with that. At this time it is said Morty can still manage stairs but a home without too many stairs would probably be best. Morty is described as a “ docile and obedient dog”.

He is waiting in Lakebay, WA, ready to find his forever companion.

ODH has not met this dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
