ODH Home needed for CJ – Schnauzer boy
Sweet couch potato!
PERMANENT ODH FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Miniature schnauzer, a bit heavy at 27#, neutered male. This guy was terrified at the shelter but has relaxed very well in his temporary shelter foster home. He even chased a bunny today! He is a really sweet couch potato though he is good on leash and on walks. He gets along with the 4 other dogs of various sizes there, has no problem with men, and has good house manners – goes to the door to ask! Medically, he has a laundry list of issues. There has some heart disease (needs an echo), he has crystals in his urine which means we need to watch for bladder stones, and he should be tested for Cushings though he has no symptoms. In addition, he has two LARGE fatty growths (lipomas or just fat, per cytology) under his chest and on his side. They do not impede his movement or comfort at this time though it’s possible they might grow more over time and
become problems.
SO: A really nice dog! with a bunch of medical issues that aren’t critical now but will need work and may be problematic in the near future – or not for a long time. If you’ve ever had a schnauzer, you know what wonderfully loving fun dogs they are (with operatic voices….)! –
