PERMANENT ODH FOSTER HOME NEEDED:    Yorkie-dachshund, spayed female, 7#, 12 years old.    She is reported to be a sweet, friendly, cuddly girl whose longtime person had to surrender to the shelter because of complaints at the apartment.  She was distressed about noise from neighbors and in the area and did a lot of alarm barking; the neighbors complained….     She evidently has some separation anxiety (barking/whining if left alone) and does way better in quieter environments without a lot of noise.    She lived with another dog just fine and is friendly to new ones; she does bark at cats however. She has been trained to potty pads though would much prefer to go outside; her person’s disabilities prevented her from being taken out.    It seems like a quiet home with another dog and pretty constant human company would make her much happier. The shelter vet found that she has few teeth remaining but does have oronasal fistulas that will need to be repaired – otherwise they feel she’s healthy but have NOT done any labwork so we aren’t sure how her organs are functioning. This little dog really needs to get out of the shelter and into just the right home.   If you think you could provide that, please let us know!
