PERMANENT ODH FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Spayed female, corgi (a guess) mix, FAT at 19#. This is a friendly, affectionate, adorable dog who is going to be a challenge medically for a while. She is excellent with he other foster dog in the home, is quickly relearning housetraining, and has a great personality. She has a lot of skin damage, especially to the back of her legs and she’s sore all over her back end – we believe from that skin/licking issue. It’s possible that she has Cushings (which would make skin issues more likely) or to allergies or
even to the pitch-like substance the vet attempted to remove from her feet. However, we would definitely want to recheck labs and her skin after she’s had some time out of the shelter and with medicated baths and supplements. Those are being started in her temporary foster home but it will take effort – and time away from stress! – to turn this around. She also has a “cherry eye” which is a little funny-looking but not a big issue and doesn’t affect vision. This little girl has had a LOT of stress and shows it physically, but she responds so well to a friendly approach and we know will blossom in a permanent ODH home with lots of love and medical care.
