Otis
Easy going and loves people
Otis is all smiles and tail wags while waiting for his forever family to find him. This happy, sweet, gentle boy is 9 years old and weighs about 17.5 pounds.
Otis loves to be around people and spends his time following his family members around the house but is equally grateful to sit by visitors for a good belly rub or back scratch. He loves spending time in the backyard, sniffing every bush and flower, napping in the sun or shade, and occasionally returning a ‘shout out’ from the neighbor dog. He does his special happy dance for meals, a stroll in the park, car rides, greetings, and during a bit of play with his furry foster sister. He is easy going and melts the heart of everyone he meets.
Otis has marked in the house twice but has otherwise been accident free when taken outside on a regular schedule of every 3-4 hours, or when given independent access to the yard, but he will sleep soundly through the night. He does not like to be gated. He prefers to be loose in the house and is learning to wear a belly band while his family is away from home for more than an hour.
This charmer takes slow, short walks due to arthritis. He can manage the two steps in and out of the house but needs help with stairways and may like to be in a home without stairs. He needs a boost to get on the couch or bed but, actually prefers his own cozy bed on the floor near his family. Otis is a precious boy who is ready to be showered with love, affection, and companionship that he’ll willingly return to you!
Otis is looking for a home with a fenced yard and someone that will only leave him about 4 hours at a time.
