MARANDA FUND RECIPIENT

When Pan-Z arrived at her Old Dog Haven foster home she had already been battling many health issues that needed attention including a heart murmur,  mammary masses and two inguinal hernias which caused a very large hanging protrusion from her abdomen.

After being evaluated by our vet team, it was soon discovered that Pan-Z’s intestines were trapped inside the hernia which can become a life-threatening situation and she immediately underwent a very expensive emergency surgery. Her hernias were repaired, mammary masses removed and she was spayed. She made it through these procedures but then experienced major postoperative complications possibly caused by a blood clot, which caused her back leg to swell and become infected. For the next 6 weeks, she would be on pain medications and was at the vet three times a week for bandage changes. She is lucky to have the most dedicated and loving foster home that made sure she had the best care available and continues to monitor her condition.

This amazing little dog is now on her way to a full recovery after receiving the urgent medical care she needed and Pan-Z will now be able to live a pain-free life in her forever home.

Pan-Z’s foster mom tells us that despite everything she has been through in the last few months, she is still her cheerful, bright self. She is a sweet dog who charms everyone she meets and spends her days happily cuddling on her mom’s lap. Pan-Z loves barking for her dinner and hanging out with her Old Dog Haven foster siblings Fern, Heather, Daffodil and Petunia. Her tail never stops wagging because she knows she is finally home.
