“My name is Sitka. I am a 10 year old German Shepherd mix who weighs 70 pounds. I had a wonderful home for a few years but recently my person passed away. Right now I am a little scared and unsure of what’s going on.

“My early years were rough. I still get worried by loud noises or abrupt movements (like throwing a toy) so I do need a quiet home with no small children, no squeaky toys, and no other pets. I must admit I chase rats, squirrels, rabbits and small dogs if I have the chance. I am sometimes OK with bigger dogs but it really depends.

“I am not a snuggler but absolutely love belly rubs, scratches behind the ear and down the back. I don’t like any toys except my football which is often filled with treats and I love bones.

“I do love people, laying down by a pair of feet and cannot get enough walks. I really, really love walks. I don’t pull on a leash but if my walker is not confident and calm, I will probably bark and lunge a little by every dog we pass.

“I would love a new home to spend the remainder of my years in. I have a lot of love to give and I am an excellent companion!”

Sitka is posted for Northwest German Shepherd Rescue. She is being fostered in Issaquah, WA. Please contact Karen at: ritterpod@gmail.com  if you’re interested in hearing more about this doll or meeting her in person.
