Here’s four pounds of cute ready for a warm lap to cuddle into! Tater is a 12 year old female chihuahua ready for a fresh start. She has lived with other dogs but we are told she would rather be an only dog. A home with another small, laid back dog may be OK. Tater can be afraid of new dogs and true to her chihuahua breed, she’ll give a little growl.

Six years ago, Tater had 3 mammary tumors removed. She’s not been vetted since then. Her owner states no new tumors can be felt. One would assume the tumors removed were benign since she is still alive and is reportedly doing well. Tater does need an adopter who can take her in for a full exam and commit to her vet care for the rest of her life. Of course this is something that should be the case in every adoption.

Tater has lived with cats but she’s never been observed around children. More than likely because of her age and size, we’d guess she will not appreciate young kids. She barks when she hears noises or sees strangers but once she warms up to you, she’s a sweetie.

Tater knows to use potty pads but she’ll also use a dog door. She likes to share a bed with her person at night. At this time she doesn’t get out much for exercise but it sounds like she’s OK with that!

Tater is waiting in Tacoma, WA. for her new home.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
