This adorable boy’s name is Timmy. Look at those ears! He is a 9 year old chihuahua mix who weighs 6 pounds. Timmy’s owner was a veteran who had to go into hospice care. A kind woman took him into her home but Timmy does not appreciating “sharing” a human with other dogs. Understandably, Timmy would like a home with someone who can make him an “only dog” again. Currently he lives with 2 large dogs and his caregiver worries about Timmy getting harmed by them.

Perhaps Timmy would be OK with friendly female dogs his size? Sometimes dogs can adapt to having pack mates with time and patience. Timmy has never been observed around cats but he’s been good with kids as long as they are gentle with him. He’s a little guy, after all! Timmy has no teeth and a vet has reported he has a mild, Grade 2 heart murmur. Heart murmurs in small breed dogs are something we at ODH see quite often and sometimes they cause no concern. But Timmy’s heart should be monitored for any changes as time goes on.

We are told Timmy needs a potty break about every 4 hours. What this little guy really really needs and deserves is a home with someone who will give him time to settle in, feel safe and loved. Losing his person and former way of life was hard on him. He deserves a person who will be around for him for the long haul. He is a sensitive boy who we are told is a cuddly, loving dog.

Timmy is living in Seattle, WA.

ODH has not met this dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
