Please note: The dogs in ODH's Final Refuge care are not adoptable due to medical reasons and all are in permanent homes. Your sponsorship supports the veterinary expenses for these dogs - and we thank you!

Vaquita was adopted from a local shelter in 2014. Nine years later, she landed in that same shelter as a “stray” and no one showed up to claim her.

At 15 years old, with multiple health issues, Old Dog Haven was asked to give her the home she needed. One of our long-time forever foster homes was asked if they’d consider another senior and to our relief they said yes!

Vaquita will undergo dental for her remaining teeth. She is being treated for arthritis in her back end, and we will watch for signs of allergic reactions since she’s had a hematoma in one ear and shows signs of previous flea allergies or other skin problems. Not only does her Final Refuge family love her, her vet loves her too!

This spunky, fun girl has made friends with the other foster and resident dogs in her Old Dog Haven home and she’s already feeling better with treatment for her arthritis. We are so happy for this sweetheart!

Thanks to Vaquita’s transporter who drove her to her Old Dog Haven Final Refuge home. We so appreciate her shelter foster who gave us more insight on Vaquita so that we could find the best place for her and of course, we thank her wonderful Old Dog Haven forever fosters.

With her friend Emi
