Talla
Sweet, sassy and gentle
Please note: The dogs in ODH's Final Refuge care are not adoptable due to medical reasons and all are in permanent homes. Your sponsorship supports the veterinary expenses for these dogs - and we thank you!
Talla came to Old Dog Haven when her Momma went to assisted living, she then transitioned to our home from another foster in March 2019. Talla has been just delightful- she really is the perfect girl.
Talla is playful, gentle, cuddly and the sweetest senior this side of the Mississippi. She can be overlooked when people come over or when we do outreach events because she is so quiet and chill – but people don’t know what they are missing. If you need some free therapy – Talla is your girl. If you need a laugh, look no further. Are you cold? She can help with that too! She’s a little heater.
Talla belches after she eats, spins her way across the house, requires you to carry her like a baby (pretty much everywhere) and will sneak up on other dog’s food and devour it with an innocent toothless smirk.
Talla was blind since birth but could sense dark/light – called dazzle reflex. Her first year home she developed glaucoma and her left eye had to be removed and she battled a life threatening post surgery infection. Her second year home the right eye also needed to be removed and this year she had almost all her teeth pulled.
No more surgeries for Talla! She’s ready to relax in her retirement. She navigates the house and yard confidently- often going from one end to the other of the house seeking her favorite beds. She is a sweet, sassy, gentle girl and we love her so very much!
