“Hello I am Winnie I am 10 years old and I am differently abled which means I do things a bit different than the average pug but I still am quite capable! Sometime in the past I had an injury to my back leg which left me with no use of it.  I developed quite a clever way of getting around where I use my good back leg to kick and push like I am riding a skateboard.  The nice people here at Pacific Pug Rescue tried to get me set up in a wheelchair but I just wasn’t interested since my technique gets me where I need to go just fine! Now that we got that out of the way I will tell you a bit about myself.

I am a shy girl and it can take me awhile to feel comfortable with new people and surroundings,  if you are an introvert I bet you understand how I feel!  I like other dogs just fine but I would prefer them to be on the more mellow side.  I am enjoying having a loving family to care for me and I would like my new home to have someone who is around a lot to give me the attention I crave.  I will remind you it is time to pet me by pawing you gently!

You may wonder about my bathroom habits, I am perfectly potty trained and will go to the door to be let out when it is time.  As you can guess I can’t do stairs so a single level home is  preferred, although I am not that heavy-I only weigh about 17 pounds- so if you are willing to take me up and down stairs that would be just great also.  I have a nice stroller I have really enjoyed using so that I can be included with the family on longer walks. I enjoy watching TV and barking at animals that come on.

I am told I am a really special girl and they tell me there are a lot of people out there who would love to open their home to a girl like me, I sure hope they are right because life hasn’t been all that fair to me up to this point, I would love to see my luck change.”
