“Hi. I’m Jake, a 9 year old puggle. My owner had to go to a place called “assisted living” . I wasn’t allowed to go because she couldn’t take care of me anymore. I hear this happens a lot to us mature dogs. Family stepped up to the plate for me so I didn’t have to go to a shelter. I’m grateful for that but they can’t keep me forever. I need a home!

“So I’m a senior but I’m a young senior. I would appreciate a more active home than I’ve had. I really like walks and I’m fine on leash. It’d be great to get out and stretch my legs, enjoy some fresh air, explore new places! When I’m outside I’ll try to chase a squirrel if I see one. A puggle is part beagle after all! I do know when it’s time to relax. I enjoy a lap to nap on. But I’m not a light dog; I weigh between 25-30 pounds.

“I have lived with other dogs and I’m a very social fellow. I’ve not lived with cats but I have been around lots of kids. Kids are great as long as they are kind. I can stay alone at home while my person is gone but would prefer some company. No one likes to hold it too long but I can manage about 6 hours or so if I must. I can do stairs and I only bark when the doorbell rings-to make sure you heard it too.

“If you’re looking for a forever friend to cuddle with, I’m your boy. Not only am I cute, I am loyal and loving. I hope to find a new home very soon.”
