“My name is Abby and I am a 10 year old Portuguese water dog who weighs 52 pounds.

“I was brought in by an Animal Control Officer on January 8, 2024 along with my sister who has already left the shelter. I am hoping it will be my turn soon!

“When I first arrived at the shelter,  I had a lot of matted hair which made walking and seeing hard, the wonderful vet staff shaved me down and now I am feeling a lot better. If you have ever seen one of my breed you know we can be quite beautiful. I didn’t receive a lot of care in my last home. You could say I was “neglected”. This means I need care for my teeth and help with my diagnosed osteoarthritis. My adopter should be able and willing to afford my care. Getting my teeth and joints more comfortable will make my life SO much more comfortable!

“I am a sweet old lady who enjoys nice slow walks outside. The nice folks here at the shelter call me adaptable. I go with the flow and appreciate the care and attention I am receiving now.

“I can’t wait to start the next chapter of my life in a home with someone who loves me and will take good care of me! Come and visit me today, I’d love to go home with you!”
