Gentle and loving Alta is a 9 year old German Shepherd who weighs 90 pounds. Alta has lived with other dogs and is said to be friendly to dogs who are friendly to her. She has never lived with cats. Alta is said to be excellent with children. Because she was abused as a youngster, she can be shy and needs time to learn to trust new people. Once she does, she makes an excellent companion.

Alta is a great watch dog. She takes her “job” of patrolling her yard seriously! However this does not make her an “outside dog”. While she does enjoy time outdoors (she is an active girl), she also enjoys being inside with her people. She is well behaved and can stay alone as needed, managing a few hours before she needs a potty break.

This beautiful girl has gone through obedience training. She is excellent on leash and will do best in a home where she gets daily exercise. Alta can manage stairs fine at this time. Alta’s adopter should be capable of and willing to keep her up to date on her senior vet care and good quality food. This is something we feel the need to remind those who are considering adoption. Alta should have a senior blood panel and urinalysis with an exam. This will give the best picture of her overall health. It is so important to do this for our dogs; their quality of life depends on it.

Someone is going to be fortunate to give Alta her next and hopefully, forever home!
Alta is located in Renton, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
