Auggie
Loves walks
Handsome Auggie is a 60 pound, brindle mixed breed ready to make his way to a new home. Estimated to be between 8-9 years old, Auggie is described as “a goofy, loving, lap dog”.Auggie was found as a stray in the desert years ago. No doubt that experience made him more cautious about humans. However, once he gets to know you, we are told he is a loyal friend. Surely there’s someone out there ready to welcome Auggie into their home!
While he has lived with other dogs, he needs a proper introduction when meeting others. His current family believes he would be happiest as an only dog. Auggie can be a sensitive boy. He can be startled by sudden movements. For that reason, Auggie should find a home without cats or young children.
Auggie loves the outdoors. A home with a secure fence will make time out in the yard safe and enjoyable. One of the benefits of a young senior like Auggie is that they can be active but also know how to relax. Auggie loves his walks and is good on leash. At 4 years old, Auggie had surgery on both his knees; he has pins in both back legs. He can still run, just not as far and long as he did before his surgery. At this time, Auggie manages stairs without issue.
Because he is not fond of the unpredictable behavior of the young children in his home, Auggie is being kept away from the hustle and bustle. With a new home, in better circumstances for Auggie, this will change! We bet Auggie will thrive and enjoy being out and about with his new people.
Auggie will bark to let you know someone has arrived at your home. This good boy will make a good burglar deterrent! Auggie can manage a few hours between potty breaks. He is crate trained. Auggie is ready to spend more time outside of the crate and inside his new home. We hope to find that new home for Auggie soon!
