“Hi there, my name is Bandit and my goal is to steal your heart! I am an 11 year old Jack Russell terrier who weighs 22 pounds. I am looking for an adoptive home and hoping to find one that will keep me for the rest of my days.

“I have lived with other dogs and done well with them. They only time I get annoyed with them is when they try to take a bone I’m chewing on- HOW RUDE!- or when I’m enjoying attention from our human and they butt in.  Aside from that, I’m a nice boy who could certainly live with new dogs that are friendly.  In the past I lived with cats and it’s best if I don’t do that again. I like humans of all ages! It has been quite a while since I was around younger kids though.  Because of my age, I’d prefer a home with older kids who know to be gentle and respectful. All dogs deserve kindness and respect.

“During the day if the humans must leave, I am fine to stay home. I’m accustomed to the company of 2 other dogs so if you have another dog at home already (or 2?), once we get to know each other and I am settled in, I could continue to be fine staying home.  Rehoming is a big deal, it’s a change in one’s life so please keep that in mind and show patience and compassion to dogs who need to move to new homes. I have taught to use a dog door. It’s nice to get outside into a safe fenced yard to potty as I need to. When it is nice out I enjoy time outside to sniff and listen to all the sounds around me. I do bark when a noise startles me so keep that in mind if you have neighbors who do not appreciate barks.

“Getting out to walk and play is so much fun! I admit to pulling some on leash when my walk first begins but after time I will stop. I sure hope I can find a home with someone who will walk me regularly! Time to play in the yard is enjoyable too. At this time in my life I am showing no signs of arthritis. I can manage stairs fine. Of course this could change and when/if it does, I will hope for help in relief from any pain I could have.

“My human is taking care of my teeth before I am adopted out. I have a bum tooth that needs to be pulled. I can get itchy from allergies that seem to be during certain times of year. My human can tell anyone interested in adopting me about that. My human will tell you what a great dog I am too! I love to sleep in bed with my human and hope to find someone who will allow me to do that in their home.

“If you are looking for a lifetime, loyal buddy who will hang out on the couch with you while you watch T.V. and give you a reason to get out and get your steps in, I may be the match you have been waiting for!”
